The San Antonio Missions (including the Alamo) were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site on July 5th at the annual UNESCO World Heritage committee meeting in Bonn, Germany. Just 22 existing U.S. landmarks are included on this elite list, and the Missions are the third designation in the United States in the last 20 years.
