A “museum district” around the Alamo to promote the shrine as a national treasure, “reclaim its original footprint” and make San Antonio “a global destination” is the promise of a bill introduced this week by state Rep. Mike Villarreal. House Bill 2205 calls for an 11-member commission to form the district.
